Montréal, August 22, 2013 – Between now and mid-October, STM photographers will be visiting more than 130 secondary schools, CEGEPs, and universities. This will allow students to quickly renew their reduced fare OPUS cards while avoiding last-minute line-ups.

To receive their reduced fare OPUS card, students must have with them the following items:

  • Cash - $14 during the tour or $15 at the STM photo studio
  • Proof of full-time studies
  • Proof of age (be 25 or under on October 31)

The complete tour schedule is available here.

Mobile app
The STM also invites students to download the STM OPUS Tour mobile app, available on iPhone and Android starting August 29.  In addition to finding lots of practical information about the school tour, they can experience augmented reality (an animation triggered by the recognition of the OPUS Tour image) and have a little fun with the photobooth allowing them to disguise themselves as an OPUS character.

Three years of free transportation to be won!
Students who renew their OPUS card during the tour or by September 30 at the photo studio could win three years of free transportation with the STM. To register, they just have to go to www.tourneeopus.com and complete the form.

The reduced fare
To receive their reduced-fare cards, students aged 16-25 must show proof of their full-time student status each year. These cards are good for one year – that is, until October 31 of the following year. Each year, the STM issues more than 205,000 photo ID OPUS cards. The reduced student fare offers about a 40% discount on the regular fare.
