Canada Day July 1st Modifications to bus and métro service

Press release

Canada Day July 1st
Modifications to bus and métro service

Montreal, June 28, 2007 - Because of the Canada Day parade being held in the streets of Montreal, some of the STM’s bus routes will be modified next Sunday, July 1.

As such, service will be suspended on both the 15 – Sainte-Catherine and the
150 – Ren-Lvesque bus routes between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. The following bus routes will also be slightly modified at one time or another, between 9:30 a.m.
and 2 p.m. : 57 – Pointe-St-Charles, 66 – The Boulevard, 107 - Verdun, and
166 – Queen-Mary.

In the métro, trains will be added on the 2 – Orange line, and service will be adjusted as needed on the 1 – Green and 4 – Yellow lines.

Bicycles in the métro

Because this event generates a significant increase in métro ridership, no bicycles will be allowed inside the métro from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The STM recommends that métro users purchase their return ticket ahead of time, to avoid waiting in line, as ridership levels are usually much heavier after such an event than before.

Service on Monday, July 2

On Monday, July 2, bus and métro systems will be providing service according to special holiday schedule.

When planning their transportation to any of these events, transit users should consult their Planibus or Infobus panel, or call A-U-T O-B-U-S (514 288-6287) for bus schedules at their stop. For other information, including travel directions, please call STM-INFO (514 786-4636). Bus timetables updated according to daily events are now available up to seven days in advance from the STM website at www.stm.info, as well as more useful transit information.
