As of June 19, 2006, a longer 43 – Monselet bus route

Press release

As of June 19, 2006, a longer 43 Monselet bus route

Montreal, 15 June 2006 - Beginning Monday, June 19, 2006, the STM will merge the 41 - Rivière-des-Prairies and 43 – Monselet bus routes, thereby creating a new, longer 43 bus route.

The decision was made by the STM in response to requests by transit users who wanted their 43 – Monselet bus route to extend further east. Besides, the 41 – Rivière-des-Prairies route has seen its ridership decline when the 89 – Gouin/Perras route was put into service last summer, leading to a review of both its route and service offer.

Merging the two routes has resulted in a longer 43 – Monselet bus route, which will improve bus service for many residents of the Rivière-des-Prairies and Montréal-Nord neighbourhoods. Indeed, they will no longer have to transfer from one bus to another when travelling between the two boroughs.

Transit users can refer to the June Planibus for timetable information, as well as details of the new bus route.

For more information, clients can always call STM-INFO (786-4636) or consult the STM website at www.stm.info for more transit-related information.
