The Société de transport de Montréal (STM) is adding a new page to its website featuring daily bus service updates.
It will thus now be possible to track the availability of the 1,425 buses required to offer the promised service level during peak periods, and also the delivery of the 300 new buses that will be put into service in 2020.

The STM has also created a new Twitter account @stm_bus to improve communication with its customers about their trips and notify them of major service disruptions.
Game plan toward an efficient organization
Note that the STM has implemented a series of concrete actions to increase its maintenance capacity to offer the promised bus service to its customers. These actions include:
- Transferring 50,000 work hours to Nova Bus to perform the recommended work to ensure increased vehicle reliability, which is a first for the STM;
- Training of 80 new mechanics who will gradually ease into their evening and weekend positions starting February 2020;
- Reopening of the Saint-Denis bus garage in January and completion of the expansion work at the three other bus garages in 2020 and 2021, which will allow us to increase the number of maintenance areas;
- Employees’ familiarization with a new planning and procurement system for parts required for bus maintenance, implemented in October.
