Thanks to the STM shuttle, ticketholders are within easy reach of McGill Stadium

Press release

Montréal, June 16, 2011   Partners for the last 14 years, Société de transport de Montréal (STM) and the Montréal Alouettes agreed to provide again this year a free shuttle service to bring ticketholders to McGill Stadium from Square-Victoria and McGill métro stations.

The shuttle service will operate during the football season, for each of the Alouettes’ home games. By taking the shuttle bus to see their team play, ticketholders will not only avoid traffic snarls and parking problems, they will be taking action for the environment.

Using public transit instead of your car for the return trip to a heavily-attended sports event or show is taking action that has a major environmental impact. Indeed, switching from your car to public transit produces the same benefit as that of one tree for one whole year. In the last year, public transit rides had the same overall environmental benefit as 2000 times that of the entire forest on Mount-Royal.

Finally, the STM reminds that, in 2010, it received an Outstanding Public Transportation System in North America award from the American Public Transportation Association, for the excellent results it achieved from 2007 to 2009 in terms of productivity and efficiency.
