Press release

From June 7 to August 29, 2010, inclusively, major work will require the closing of the main entrance (Saint-Ferdinand st.) to Place Saint-Henri station

Montréal, May 28, 2010
Société de transport de Montréal (STM) wishes to inform its clients that it must temporarily close the main entrance building to Place Saint-Henri métro station, located on Saint-Ferdinand St., to carry out renovation work. As the renovations will extend from June 7 to August 29, bus stops for the 17 – Decarie and 36 – Monk bus routes will be relocated to the corner of Saint-Jacques and Saint-Ferdinand streets.

Renovations executed during this period will consist mainly of demolishing the entrance building’s structural slab and pouring a new one, with the addition of a waterproofing membrane, repairing staircases and floor finishes, installing new windows, replacing and improving the entrance building’s indoor and outdoor lighting, resurfacing the asphalt, as well as some outdoor landscaping. Signs will be posted to inform and direct clients while work is underway.

Aware that this will require clients to change their habits around the station, the STM wants to reassure clients that every necessary measure has been taken to ensure public safety and that every effort has been made to minimize any related inconvenience.

The repair work is part of phase II of the Réno-Stations programme. Transport Québec and STM are financial partners in carrying out this programme.
