Jacques Fortin Named Director General of the STCUM
Montréal, April 30, 1997 - The members of the Board of Directors of the STCUM have named Mr. Jacques Fortin, economist, Director General of the Corporation. He succeeds Mr. TrefflŽ Lacombe, whose resignation had been formally accepted. He will therefore take up his post as of tomorrow. Mr. Fortin did his doctoral studies in economics and started working at the STCUM in 1989. He worked as Director of Planning until 1992 and since then had been Director of the Financial Planning and Budget department. Mr. Yves Ryan, the President of the Board of Directors, highlighted Mr. Fortin's abilities and recognized his extensive knowledge of the Corporation and his great humanity. In the name of the members of the Board of Directors, Mr. Ryan emphasized Mr. TrefflŽ Lacombe's contribution during his five years in office, notably in the matter of improved work relations, and wished him the very best in his future challenges.
