The ceramic tiling on the walls over the stairs between the mezzanine and platforms forms two abstract and symmetrical murals. Like a negative image, the blue pattern on the south wall is repeated in red tiles on the north wall.

About the artist

Born in Montréal, Jean-Paul Mousseau (1927-1991) was a painter, sculptor, set designer, and interior designer. His works can be found both in the collections of major museums and in numerous public places.
