Autorité régionale de transport métropolitain (ARTM)
The Autorité régionale de transport métropolitain (ARTM) is a regional transit authority that was established on June 1, 2017.
Responsabilities
The ARTM is responsible for the strategic planning, coordination, funding and pricing of public transit, including paratransit.
The ARTM establishes the fares for the various services offered by the 4 public transit agencies (OPTC), including buses, metro and the STM paratransit program.
The ARTM and the STM are bound by a service agreement that sets out the transportation offering that the STM must deliver to its customers. The STM is responsible for operational planning and service delivery, as well as information and customer service.
The ARTM can also entrust projects or responsibilities in delegated management to the STM.
Territory
The ARTM’s territory includes the Communauté métropolitaine de Montréal, the Kahnawake First Nations reserve and the city of Saint-Jérôme.

The four public transit agencies within the ARTM’s territory are the Société de transport de Montréal, the Réseau de transport de Longueuil (RTL), the Société de transport de Laval (STL) and exo.
