Divers-Cité Festival, July 30 to August 6, 2006 Modifications to STM bus service

Press release

Divers-Cité Festival, July 30 to August 6, 2006
Modifications to STM bus service

Montreal, 27 July 2006 - The Société de transport de Montréal (STM) will slightly alter its downtown bus service this weekend to accommodate the Divers/Cité festival’s many events.

Service will be cancelled on the 15 – Sainte-Catherine bus route from 9 p.m. to 3 a.m. Sunday, July 30, when the Gay Pride Parade will be held.

The following bus routes will also be deviated at different times during the week of July 30 – August 6, 2006:

  • 30 – Saint-Denis/Saint-Hubert

  • 45 – Papineau

  • 358 – Sainte-Catherine

  • 361 – Saint-Denis

When planning their travel to attend these events, transit users are invited to call
A-U-T-O-B-U-S (288-6287) for timetable information for their bus stop.

Bicycles in the métro

Also, as ridership is expected to be quite heavy for the parade on Sunday, July 30, bicycles will not be allowed inside the métro from 6 pm until closing.

The STM recommends that anyone planning on using the métro to purchase their return ticket ahead of time and avoid waiting in line, as métro stations are always more crowded after an event.

For other transit information, including travel directions, please call STM-INFO (786-4636). Timetables updated to daily events are also available on the website up to seven days in advance. More useful transit information can also be found on the STM website at www.stm.info.
