The STCUM Is Setting up a Committee to Study the Morgan Street Issue

Montréal, June 2, 1997 - With the consent of the mayors of Baie d'Urfée, Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue and Beaconsfield, the members of the Board of Direction of the STCUM are going ahead with their project to reorganise public transit services in the West-Island as adopted at the beginning of the year. However, sensitive to protests from Morgan Street residents, they have decided to form a work committee that will look into the issue of bus traffic on this residential street as well as seek medium-term solutions. This committee will be made up of representatives of the ministère des Transports, the Agence métropolitaine de transport, the municipalities involved, Morgan Street residents and the STCUM. Sittings will be held in the very near future.

As previously announced, modifications to the West-Island network will come into effect on June 16 of this year. By then, the STCUM will have home-delivered an information flyer that includes a map of the new public transit services.
