Operation Change of Season in the Métro
Coming to the Aid of the Unemployed

Montréal, April 28, 1997 - For a fourth season, the STCUM is joining Renaissance Montréal to set up Opération Changement de Saison, whose goal is to give the more destitute an opportunity to reintegrate the work force. It therefore sends an invitation to its ridership to participate generously in the collection of clothes and toys - used or new - which will be held:

from 7 am to Noon
Wednesdays April 30, May 1 and May 14
at the Berri-UQAM, Henri-Bourassa, Jean-Talon, Lionel-Groulx,
Honoré-Beaugrand, Namur and Longueuil stations.

By selling these donations, Renaissance Montréal self-finances training programs and the activities in its stores which, in themselves, are training grounds.

By this gesture of solidarity, the STCUM follows the example of many transit companies that have been collaborating for several years for the same cause, among them the TTC (Toronto Transit Commission) which, as a result of its association with neighbouring organisations, has made it possible for about 650 individuals to return to the work force last year.
