Routes 16, 117 and 178 Modifications to the Service as of January 6

Montréal, December 11, 1996 The Montréal Urban Community Transit Corporation wishes to advise its customers that some modifications will be brought to the schedules of bus routes 16, 177 and 178 as of next January 6. These decisions were made based on the low ridership on some segments of the routes and the available alternatives.

Route 31 - Graham
On weekdays and weekends service will end at 9:30 pm. Alternate routes available to commuters are routes 92 - Jean-Talon, 124 - Victoria, 128 - Ville Saint-Laurent or 165 - Côte-des-Neiges.

Route 117 - O'Brien
On weekdays and weekends service will end at 7:00 pm. Available alternatives are the métro's line 2 - orange, Route 128 - Ville Saint-Laurent or any of the bus routes running perpendicularly to O'Brien Boulevard.

Route 178 - Laurentien
>From Monday to Friday, there will be bus service from 5:00 am to 7:00 pm. There will be no service on Saturdays and Sundays. Alternate routes available to commuters when the 178 is not in operation are 64 - Grenet and 164 - Dudemaine.

These changes will translate into savings of $546,000 for the STCUM.

The STCUM also wishes to advise its customers that the Planibus pamphlets available on board buses from next January 3 to 17 will be in effect until June 15. At that time, they will also be distributed in about a hundred outlets that sell CAM passes or tickets.
