A plan to secure STM installations was implemented several years ago and has been constantly improved upon since. In this particular instance, the site was quickly secured once their entry point was identified. The métro system is one of the safest in the world and features over 2000 surveillance cameras along with other security measures.

The STM reminds the public that its employees are aware of the need to be vigilant in the underground network and work closely with the SPVM’s métro unit. The STM invites all transit users to report, either in person or through assistance devices, any conduct or unusual situation they may witness.
