After a four-month closure, Beaubien station is set to reopen its doors on Monday, August 31. However, as initially planned, some work remains to be completed, like the exterior marquee, bus lane, outdoor landscaping, natural ventilation shaft and some electrical work. As such, the project is expected to be finished by January 2016.

At a cost of $3.6 M, of which 75% is funded by the MTQ as part of the Réno-Infrastructures program, the completed work will have involved:

· refurbishing structural slabs, floor finishes and the entrance building’s water-proofing membrane;

· installing a new natural ventilation shaft;

· replacing lighting fixtures in the entrance building and inside the station, and perform other electrical work;

· replacing the granite stairs;

· repairing and/or replacing wall panels and floor slabs on train platforms;

· upgrading the outdoor marquee;

· replacing walkway edges, sidewalks, pivoting butterfly-type entrance doors and fences; adding trees and shrubs.

The shuttle service operating between Rosemont, Beaubien and Jean-Talon stations will therefore end once the station reopens.
