Montréal, May 27, 2018 – The Société de transport de Montréal (STM) has taken note of the decision of its maintenance employees to authorize their union to call an unlimited general strike at the time of its choice within the framework of the current negotiation of their collective agreement.
The STM is surprised that the union has opted for new pressure tactics, seeing that the only place the issues can be settled is around the bargaining table. It encourages the president of the union to start participating constructively in discussions, by finally sitting down at the table.

Montréal, May 24, 2018 – The Société de transport de Montréal (STM) has decided to submit an official request for a mediator, by virtue of the Act respecting the process of negotiation of collective agreements and the settlement of disputes in the municipal sector (CQLR, chapter 24), in order to break the current deadlock in negotiations with the maintenance employees’ union. The union is considering asking its members to approve a second strike mandate in the coming days.
Montréal, 24 mai 2018 – La Société de transport de Montréal (STM) demandera officiellement l’intervention d’un médiateur, tel que le prévoit la Loi concernant le régime de négociation des conventions collectives et de règlement des différends dans le secteur municipal (RLRQ, chapitre 24), afin de dénouer l’impasse qui s’installe dans la démarche de négociation avec le syndicat du personnel d’entretien. Ceci, à l’aube d’un second mandat de grève potentiel qu’envisage demander ce syndicat à ses membres dans les prochains jours.
