Montréal, October 26, 2021 – The STM is pleased to announce that its Extra Connecte project has been named a finalist in Project of the year category for PMI-Montréal’s Élixir contest, an award that recognizes top initiatives in Quebec project management.

Extra Connecte, the real-time trip management system implemented in recent years for Transport adapté, both helps improve the customer experience by providing real-time service updates and optimizes the use of STM vehicles and financial resources.

Montréal, October 14, 2021 – The Société de transport de Montréal (STM) is announcing the implementation of a reserved lane for buses and taxis on Robert-Bourassa Boulevard, northbound between René-Lévesque Boulevard and Cathcart Street and southbound between René-Lévesque Boulevard and Saint-Jacques Street in the Ville-Marie borough, starting October 18.

Philippe Schnobb, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the STM, earned an Excellence Award for his eight years as a user representative on the Board of Directors, and the STM received the Safety and Security Award for their Métro intervention and cooperation team (MICT) and the Innovation Award for its paratransit service project, Extra Connecte.

Montréal, September 30, 2021 – The Société de transport de Montréal (STM), in collaboration with its partner MUVE, announces that they will be testing a new reservation app for its shared taxibus service in the areas of Senneville and Saint-Anne-de-Bellevue (Sainte-Marie neighbourhood). Testing of the app will begin on October 4 and continue until the end of the year.

Montréal, le 30 septembre – La Société de transport de Montréal (STM), en collaboration avec son partenaire MUVE, annonce la mise à l’essai d’une nouvelle une application de réservations pour le service de transport collectif par taxi desservant les secteurs de Senneville et de Saint-Anne-de-Bellevue – quartier Sainte-Marie. Cette application sera testée à compter du 4 octobre prochain, et ce, jusqu’à la fin de cette année.

« Aujourd’hui, les communautés exigent que les infrastructures soient construites en protégeant l’environnement, avec un souci du bien-être de la collectivité, tout en stimulant l’économie. Cette reconnaissance platine, la première au Canada pour un projet de transport collectif, démontre que la STM possède le savoir-faire pour livrer des projets d’envergure avec un maximum de bénéfices pour la collectivité », a indiqué Luc Tremblay, directeur général de la STM.

Parmi les éléments du projet qui ont contribué à l’obtention de cette reconnaissance, on note :

The Platinum Award—the first in Canada for a public transit project—demonstrates that the STM has the expertise to deliver large-scale projects with maximum benefits to the community,” said Luc Tremblay, Chief Executive Officer of the STM.
