Tentative Agreement Between STM and the Administrative Staff Union

Press release

A tentative agreement was reached Sunday evening between the Société de transport de Montréal (STM) and the Union of Administrative, Technical, and Professional Public Transit Staff (SCFP 2850) as part of negotiations to renew the collective agreement.

As a result, the strike notice scheduled for this Wednesday, November 19, has been lifted.

The STM Board of Directors must ratify this agreement.

The union will also convene its members for a general assembly to approve the new employment contract, following the timelines and processes set out in its bylaws and regulations.

No details of the tentative agreement will be disclosed until both the Board of Directors and the union members have adopted it.

“Once again, we have reached a tentative agreement based on compromises by both parties and in line with the established financial framework,” said Marie-Claude Léonard, STM’s Chief Executive Officer. “I want to thank all the teams whose work made this agreement possible and helped avoid the November 19 strike.”

It should be noted that this union represents 1,300 employees working in a wide range of teams, such as information technology, accounting, and human resources.
