Montréal, February 25, 2015 –  Once again this year, the Société de transport de Montréal (STM) is partnering with Nuit blanche, as part of the MONTRÉAL EN LUMIÈRE festival taking place this weekend, February 28 to March 1. Transit users taking part in the festivities can count on expanded transit service, with the métro running all night for the event, four free shuttle routes, night-time paratransit service, in addition to the usual all-night bus service.

Exceptionally, the métro is open all night
The thousands of people attending the festival can use the métro all night. For one night only, the entire métro system will be open to those who hold a valid transit fare.

STM shuttles, always on hand for big events
Again this year, the STM is working closely with MONTRÉAL EN LUMIÈRE organizers, offering four free shuttle routes criss-crossing the Quartier des spectacles, the downtown core, Plateau Mont-Royal, Mile-End and Old Montréal. Over fifty bus stops dot the four bus routes, allowing the public to discover and enjoy the many activities being held as part of Nuit blanche. To find out more about the shuttle routes, go to the Nuit blanche website at: www.montrealenlumiere.com/nuit-blanche.

Night-time paratransit service
Not only can people with limited mobility travel between the festival’s various event sites using the free shuttle service (low-floor buses with front ramp), Transport adapté customers can also reserve transportation from their home to one of the following locations:

  • For the Vieux-Montréal shuttle: corner of Saint-Laurent and De la Commune in Old Montréal;
  • For the Plateau-Mont-Royal and Mile-End shuttle: the Maison de la culture du Plateau Mont-Royal;
  • For the downtown shuttle: Complexe Desjardins, on rue Saint-Urbain;
  • For events held around Parc Olympique: the Biodôme and Botanical Garden.

STM’s Transport adapté will provide this special service to its usual customers holding a valid transit fare.

All-night bus service
The STM’s all-night bus service will also be provided as usual. To find out about routes and schedules, the public is invited to look up the STM website.
