The STM announces continuous weekday service on line 46 – Casgrain

Press release

Montréal, March 17, 2011   The Société de transport de Montréal (STM) advises its clientele that service will be added on line 46 – Casgrain by extending the service outside rush hour. As of March 28, this line will offer continuous service, Monday to Friday, between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m., in both directions. There will be a 30-minute interval between buses throughout the day.

“This added service on line 46 is in response to the needs of a growing residential sector. In addition, the sometimes-atypical schedules of the workers in the area demonstrated the need for improved public transit service on the east-west axis during the week outside rush hour. We are confident that this added service, representing an increase of some 1 400 hours of service per year, will enable residents and workers in the Mile-End sector to benefit from increased mobility on public transit,” declared Mr. Michel Labrecque, Chairman of the STM’s Board of Directors.

It should be noted that the bi-directional route for this line will serve residents in the area bounded by St-Viateur, du Parc, Bernard and St-Urbain in Mile-End in their daily travel within the borough and to the Laurier métro station. It will also provide workers in the sector with access to the orange line of the métro throughout the day.

Clients are invited to consult the spring Planibus schedule for the schedule for this line. For any other information on routes, clients can call STM-INFO (514-786-4636), consult the System Map or visit the STM’s Internet site (www.stm.info), which features additional useful information.
