The members of the renewed board of directors of the Société de transport de Montréal (STM) were confirmed on November 27, after their appointment was approved by the Montreal agglomeration council.
Under the chairmanship of Aref Salem, vice-chair of the City of Montreal’s Executive Committee and city councillor for the Norman-McLaren district of the Saint-Laurent borough, the STM board will also welcome Effie Giannou, city councillor for the Bordeaux-Cartierville district of the Ahuntsic-Cartierville borough, as vice-chair.
New faces and returning members
The STM board of directors will be complemented by a combination of new members with diverse backgrounds and returning members whose experience will facilitate a smooth transition.
The new members are:
- Dominic Perri, mayor of the borough of Saint-Léonard
- Jocelyn Pauzé, city councillor for the Marie-Victorin district in Rosemont–La Petite-Patrie
- Julie-Pascale Provost, mayor of the borough of Lachine
- Mercedez Plante, city councillor for the Joseph-Beaubien district in Outremont
- Sylvain Gariépy, designated public transit customer
The returning members are:
- Alex Bottausci, mayor of the City of Dollard-des-Ormeaux
- Catherine Boucher, designated public transit customer and member under 35
- Sylvain Lemay, designated paratransit customer

Outgoing members
The STM would like to thank Éric Alan Caldwell, Laurence Parent, Marie-Claude Baril, Sylvain Ouellet, Alan DeSousa, Suzanne Lareau and Catherine Morency for their unwavering commitment over the past few years as members of the board and its committees. Their work has contributed to many achievements that will benefit the mobility of Montrealers.
