Montréal, July 10, 2015 - The Société de transport de Montréal (STM) wishes to notify area residents that it will be performing sound tests on the métro’s Greene mechanical ventilation station, located on boulevard De Maisonneuve Ouest, between Atwater and Lionel-Groulx stations. These tests will take place late at night, in the early hours of July 14 to 15, and will last about 30 minutes

Residents living near the ventilation station could hear a humming sound while these tests are, exceptionally, being conducted. They consist of measuring the air displacement rate for various ventilation scenarios in the métro system. In order to obtain conclusive results, the métro must not be operating at the same time, as the movement of the trains would result in a displacement of air that would distort the data. This is why the tests must be carried out at night when the métro is shut down.

In case of rain, the tests will be moved to another night later in the week of July 13.

The STM would like to thank area residents for their patience and understanding. For any questions, they can go to stm.info or call 514 STM-INFO.
