Rerouting of bus lines 106 – Newman and 406 – Express Newman on 90th avenue in LaSalle borough

Press release

Montréal, November 21, 2012   – Due roadwork planned by the city of Montréal, the Société de transport de Montréal (STM) wishes to inform customers that bus lines 106 – Newman and 406 – Express Newman will be rerouted as of Thursday, November 22. Therefore, bus stops located along 90th Avenue, between Airlee and Newman Boulevard will not be in service in both directions. Buses will run on Labatt Avenue, west of 90e Avenue. It should be noted that no stops are to be added on the rerouted portion of these routes.

Traffic congestion to be expected
Traffic in this area is already very heavy due to the proximity to the Mercier Bridge. It should be expected that the closing of 90th Avenue will likely lead to traffic congestion. Service delays are also to be expected on these bus lines. Work is scheduled to take about two weeks to complete, depending on weather conditions.

The STM wishes to thank customers for their understanding. For more information on alternate routes or to look up bus schedules, please visit www.stm.info.
