A MétroArts event in partnership with the STM FANTASIA brings the world of animation to the métro!

Press release

Montréal, July 13, 2012  –  In celebration of the Fantasia International Film Festival, film enthusiasts of all ages are invited to participate this Saturday in an image-by-image animation workshop, which will be held in the passageway of Berri-UQAM métro station. This activity is part of the MétroArts program staged in Société de transport de Montréal (STM) installations to transform these festive gatherings into original and unique cultural events.

In addition to Fantasia’s entertaining and original program featuring some one hundred full-length feature films, an invitation in cooperation with the STM is also extended to all movie buffs to give free reign to their imagination and discover amusing animation techniques. Érik Goulet, President of the Montréal Stop Motion Festival and Fantasia Festival collaborator, will present a stop motion animation workshop. After a brief introduction, participants can try their hand at bringing certain objects to life and making their film debut in animation!

On July 14, near the security office, in Berri-UQAM métro station, two consecutive workshop sessions will be offered to festivalgoers, the first from 2 to 3 p.m. and the second, from 3 to 4 p.m.

Join us for this 16th edition of the most exciting genre film festival in Canada. For more information about the program, visit: www.fantasiafestival.com
