Montréal, December 22, 2011 - For the holidays, the STM has decided to extend its Family Outings program, normally allowing an adult with a valid STM fare card to ride the Montréal transit network with a maximum of five children under the age of 12, at no additional cost, on Saturdays, Sundays and legal holidays.
As such, the Family Outings program will be in effect from Saturday, December 24, 2011 to Sunday, January 8, 2012, inclusively, while schoolchildren are on holiday and when so many opportunities are available to them, their family and friends. During the rest of the year, the program remains in effect on weekends and holidays.
Furthermore, upon presenting a valid fare card and a discount coupon, the program makes it possible for families to enjoy interesting savings from 25 commercial partners offering tourist, cultural and leisure activities. With Family Outings, public transportation is clearly the best way of getting to any of Montréal’s points of interest.
For more information about the program’s partners and its extended period, as well as how to download coupons, simply go to http://www.stm.info/info/famille-3.htm The website also contains a wealth of useful and practical information to make riding public transit even better.
All STM fare cards are accepted regardless of their type. However, the Family Outings program does not apply to travel aboard the 747 bus running between downtown and Montréal-Trudeau airport.
The STM takes this opportunity to extend season’s greeting to its customers and to invite the public to choose public transit. During this time for celebrations, it’s the responsible choice!
