The STM to improve service on the 25 - Angus bus route starting January 3, 2011

Montréal, December 6, 2010
The Société de transport de Montréal (STM) is announcing a new itinerary for the 25 – Angus bus route, effective on weekdays starting January 3, 2011. The initiative aims at improving the service in Rosemont–La-Petite-Patrie and targets mainly Angus Technopole employees and Angus district residents.

"This bus route improvement represents a further step in the service provided in developing districts and a way to boost the use of public transit. Indeed, thanks to funding shared equally by the Montréal agglomeration and Quebec government, the STM was able to improve frequency on this route by adding some 1335 hours of service annually. “We are confident that the optimization of this service will lead to greater ridership," declared Michel Labrecque, Chairman of the STM Board of Directors.

The improved 25 – Angus bus route will run Monday to Friday during rush hour, from 6:34 to 9:52 a.m. and from 3:37 to 6:55 p.m., with 20-minute intervals between buses. The 17-minute bus route will connect the Angus Technopole to Rosemont metro station and will primarily serve the Rosemont CLSC, businesses located in the Angus Technopole, and residential projects currently being developed.

In 2010, the STM won an award as Outstanding Public Transportation System in North America from the American Public Transportation Association. The STM received this award for the excellent results it achieved between 2007 and 2009 in terms of effectiveness and efficiency.
