The elevators in Henri-Bourassa station
will be operational April 26, 2010

Montréal, April 21, 2010
The Société de transport de Montréal (STM) wishes to inform clients that four new elevators in Henri-Bourassa station will become operational next April 26.

These additional elevators will raise the number of stations accessible to the mobility-impaired to six on the métro’s Orange line, after Montmorency, de la Concorde, Cartier, Berri-UQAM and Lionel-Groulx. Bonaventure station is also equipped with elevators allowing access to both train platforms from the fare collection booth, as the station does not have an entrance building directly from the street.

Indeed, the ministère des Transports du Québec (MTQ) worked with the STM and representatives of the disabled community to determine which stations would be the first to be equipped with elevators. As part of the Réno- Systèmes Programme, the work was made possible thanks to the MTQ who funded 75% of admissible expenditures.
