Côte-Sainte-Catherine métro station reopens

Montréal, August 20, 2010
Société de transport de Montréal (STM) is pleased to inform its clients that Côte-Sainte-Catherine métro station will again be accessible as of Monday, August 23, as planned, after 14 weeks of major renovations work. These had become necessary to ensure the station’s integrity and will considerably extend the building’s service life.

The shuttle bus service running between Côte-Sainte-Catherine and both Snowdon and Plamondon stations will therefore end late Sunday evening, at 1:30 a.m. when the métro closes.

The renovations carried out during that time consisted mainly of demolishing and rebuilding the station’s structural concrete slab while adding a waterproofing membrane, repairing staircases and floor finishes, installing new windows, replacing the entrance building’s indoor and outdoor lighting, replacing the fire protection system, as well as resurfacing the asphalt and refurbishing other outdoor installations.

Lastly, STM reminds its clients that the work is part of phase II of the Réno-Stations programme, funded through a partnership between Transports Québec and STM.
