A message of peace from artist Yoko Ono
will be broadcast in the Montréal métro
Montréal, March 31, 2009 - The Société de transport de Montréal (STM) is proud to inform its clients that Yoko Ono, a committed artist, wishes to address a message of peace to Montrealers, reaffirming the message she and John Lennon delivered in Montréal in 1969, as part of the Imagine, The Peace Ballad of John & Yoko, an exhibit commemorating that event.
From April 6 to June 21, 2009, the message from Yoko Ono can be seen and heard by all those who will be taking the métro to see the exhibition presented at the Montréal Museum of Fine Arts. The message will be broadcast throughout the metro system and displayed on-screen inside métro cars.
”No doubt this symbolic gesture will support the actions taken daily by the STM to promote a culture of peace in public transportation,” declared the Chairman of the STM Board of Directors, Michel Labrecque, who hopes a large number of Montrealers will hear the message and visit the exhibit promoting peace.
