to the beat of the High Lights' All-Nighter

Montreal, February 7, 2007 - As part of the Montréal High Lights Festival’s All-Nighter, the STM will present a novel event, on the night of March 3 to 4, inside Place-des-Arts métro station, below Frdric Back’s glass mural. In cooperation with the Urban Element dance centre, the STM is staging an all-nighter dedicated to hip-hop, beginning at 1 am and ending at 5 a.m.

This colourful happening will see live performances by the very popular DJ Static, DJ Eddie Lewis, DJ Godfather, as well as the excellent Soulvation. This funk, soul, R&B and hip-hop music formation has played with the Cirque du Soleil, Ginette Reno and Harry Belafonte, among others. Moreover, RAW hip-hop and B-Boy (breakdance) competitions will feature Montréal’s best dancers.

For a third consecutive year, as partners of the Montréal High Lights Festival, the STM will provide All-Nighter participants with a bus service to transport them to and from the various locations where performances and other cultural activities will be held that night.

“The STM is proud to play such a dynamic part in the All-Nighter’s programming, as it reflects our efforts to forge closer ties with clients, particularly the 15- to 25-year-old crowd,” explained STM chairman, Claude Trudel. “By providing reliable, safe and comfortable transportation with an integrated bus and métro system, the STM is an essential partner for all of Montréal’s large-scale events.”

The STM reminds its clients that Place-des-Arts métro station will remain open during this event. However, métro service will end and resume at the usual times. When planning their transportation, transit users are invited to consult their Planibus timetables or call A-U-T-O-B-U-S (514 288-6287). For all other information, including travel directions in Montréal, they can call STM-INFO (514 786-4636). More useful transit information is available from the STM website (www.stm.info), including all Planibus timetables and a complete list of five-digit bus stop codes.
