Improved public transit service
in thePointe-aux-Trembles industrial park

Montreal, August 5, 2004 –  In a bid to provide improved public transit service in the industrial sector of Pointe-aux-Trembles, the Société de transport de Montréal (STM) will introduce a new bus route, the 25 – Parc industriel Pointe-aux-Trembles on Monday, August 16, 2004.

Designed to attract new users among employees of businesses located close to Industriel Boulevard and to Jean-Viel and April Streets, this new service is the result of a partnership agreement between the STM and the Société de d�veloppement �conomique Rivière-des-Prairies●Pointe-aux-Trembles (SODEC). Rush hour service will be provided Monday to Friday, connecting the industrial park to the terminus stop for the 460 – métropolitaine line on Galeries d’Anjou Boulevard by way of the Highway 40 service road.

About 2 800 employees working for some 137 businesses could take advantage of the new bus route, in addition to the 184 – métrobus Bout-de-l’Île already linking the industrial sector to Honoré-Beaugrand métro station. The partnership agreement between the STM and the SODEC is valid for 20 weeks, until December 31, 2004, and can be renewed at will.
