Côte-Vertu Garage Project : Côte-Vertu station closure postponed

News

Due to the situation with COVID-19, which caused the temporary closure of construction sites, the Société de transport de Montréal has decided to postpone the closure of Côte-Vertu station, which was supposed to happen this summer, until summer 2021.

As part of the project to build the Côte-Vertu underground garage for métro trains, this station was scheduled to be closed for a 12-week period to install a track switch ahead of the station. Among other things, this work will increase the frequency of train departures during peak periods by up to 25% once the new garage is completed.

This postponement should not significantly impact the project’s overall budget and schedule, since the garage is expected to be operational some time in 2022.

Work will resume on the construction site as soon as the STM receives authorization from the Government of Quebec.
