To help our customers get out and about and ring in the New Year with them, the STM will again run the métro all night on December 31 (current fares apply). This is truly exceptional, as the metro must be closed for a few hours each night for maintenance.
To avoid lines on an evening and night that promise to be busy, customers are encouraged to purchase their transit fare in advance, and those who plan on making several trips should consider the Unlimited Evening pass. Make the most of this special night to celebrate in style and get about worry-free!
Also, with the office party season about to kick off, the STM reminds customers that its all-night bus service on 23 routes and Operation Red Nose, a safe ride service, are excellent ways to get home safely.
Free public transit for children
Winter holidays mean family time! Thanks to the Family Outings program, from Friday, December 21 at 4 p.m. to Sunday, January 6, 2019, children aged 6 to 11 can ride for free on the STM network when travelling with an adult holding a valid transit fare. Remember, children under 6 years always ride for free.
