The mobile network continues to expand in the métro, with Place-Saint-Henri, Vendôme and Villa-Maria stations now also connected. People can access state-of-the-art 3G, 4G and 4G LTE mobile technologies inside stations and tunnels.

Carrying out this major project is in line with the shift undertaken by the STM to improve the transit experience for customers by making transit rides easier and more pleasant. With a connected métro system, it is simpler than ever to use your mobile devices to review timetables, select a route or stay informed about the status of transit service.

Keep in mind that deployment of the mobile network is the result of a 50 million dollar joint investment shared equally by Bell, Rogers, TELUS and Vidéotron.

Expanding at a brisk pace
This most recent development brings the total number of connected stations to 22, meaning that nearly one-third of our underground installations are connected. The mobile network is available along a portion of the Green line between Lionel-Groulx and Beaudry stations, along the entire length of the Yellow line, along the Orange line between Mont-Royal and Villa-Maria, as well as inside all of Berri-UQAM station downtown. By the end of the year, efforts will focus mainly on the stretch of Orange line between Villa-Maria and Côte-Vertu.
