You know it, public transportation offers many advantages compared to driving a car. It produces less polluting emissions that generate smog, less greenhouse gases responsible for climat change and less congested roads.

But there is more. When you choose public transit, you also choose to help keep the Québec economy going. Indeed, according to a study by the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal, public transportation generates three times as many economic benefits as single-occupant car use and lowers the costs related to  traffic congestion. Furthermore, through its activities, the STM sustains over 16,500 jobs and produces economic benefits valued at nearly 1.4 billion dollars throughout the province. And because the principles of sustainability are an integral part of all our business practices, we contribute to a more responsible economy from both an environmental and social perspective.

So we can safely say that choosing public transportation also means making a choice for the environment and the economy.
