Montréal, August 25, 2017 – The Government of Québec will invest 330 million dollars in the construction project for an underground garage for trains at Côte-Vertu station. The garage will make it possible to replace first-generation métro cars and meet increased transit ridership along with other requirements, including the Blue line’s future extension. Société de transport de Montréal (STM) will contribute the remaining funds, for an overall investment of nearly 440 million dollars.

Montréal, le 25 août 2017 – Le gouvernement du Québec investira 330 millions de dollars dans le projet de construction d’un garage souterrain destiné aux trains du métro, à la station Côte-Vertu. Ce garage permettra de remplacer les voitures de métro de la première génération, et de répondre à l’accroissement de l’achalandage ainsi qu’à d’autres besoins, dont un futur prolongement de la ligne bleue. La Société de transport de Montréal (STM) complète le financement, pour un investissement global de près de 440 millions de dollars.

Société de transport de Montréal (STM) today announced the commissioning of Line 428 – Express Parcs-industriels-de-l’Est and the improvement of service on Line 449 – Express Rivière-des-Prairies, effective this August 28.

This new line, called 428 – Express Parcs-industriels-de-l’Est, will take over the route of Line 449 – Express Rivière-des-Prairies between the industrial parks on both sides of Boulevard Henri-Bourassa and the Radisson métro station. It will operate during peak periods, eastbound in the morning rush hour and westbound in the afternoon rush hour.
