Rappelons que la construction d’un second édicule au pôle multimodal Vendôme a été confirmée par les autorités gouvernementales en 2015. Le projet a été identifié comme étant la solution optimale afin de répondre à l’augmentation de l’achalandage anticipé, notamment en raison de la proximité du CUSM, centre hospitalier adjacent à la station de métro qui regroupe cinq établissements de santé de Montréal.

This project, announced in early March, aims to ensure the safety of métro customers and employees in the event of an incident requiring cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Every métro station is now equipped with at least one AED that can be used both by users and employees. All defibrillators have been installed near the station agents’ fare booths, and new signage has been added to help users locate them. No matter where an incident may happen in a métro station, access to a defibrillator is now less than five minutes away, which can make a huge difference to a survival prognosis.

Rappelons que le projet, annoncé au début mars, a pour objectif de contribuer à la sécurité des clients et des employés du métro dans le cas où un incident nécessitant des soins de réanimation cardiorespiratoires se produise, en dotant chaque station du réseau du métro d’au moins un défibrillateur pouvant être utilisé par le personnel ou les clients. Le positionnement du DEA, à proximité des loges des agents de stations, est sensiblement le même d’une station à l’autre, et de nouveaux éléments de signalétique ont été ajoutés, pour faciliter leur repérage.

The Société de transport de Montréal (STM) is pleased to announce that, starting today, L’Itinéraire magazine vendors will be returning to selected métro stations for a pilot project. Customers will have the opportunity to see some familiar, friendly faces that were part of their pre-pandemic transit experience. Their return will follow structured and guided procedures defined in a plan set up by the STM and L’Itinéraire, which was approved by public health authorities to ensure the safety of vendors, customers and employees.

Montréal, le 25 mai 2021 - La Société de transport de Montréal (STM) est heureuse d’annoncer qu’à compter d’aujourd’hui, des camelots de la revue L’Itinéraire seront de retour dans certaines stations de métro, en projet pilote. Pour les clients, ce sera l’occasion de retrouver des visages familiers et sympathiques qui ponctuaient leur parcours de déplacement pré-pandémie. Ce retour s’effectue de façon balisée et contrôlée selon un plan convenu entre la STM et L’Itinéraire et approuvé par les autorités de santé publique, pour assurer la sécurité des camelots, des clients et des employés.

Montréal, May 21, 2021 – The board of directors of the Société de transport de Montréal (STM) welcomes the appointment of Mr. Éric Alan Caldwell, City Councillor on the Mercier-Hochelaga-Maisonneuve borough council, Member of the executive committee responsible of mobility and of the agglomeration council, as a member of the board of the STM, effective today.

Mr. Caldwell's appointment was confirmed by the Montréal agglomeration council on May 20.

Éric Alan Caldwell, conseiller de la ville dans l’arrondissement Mercier–Hochelaga-Maisonneuve, membre du comité exécutif responsable de la mobilité et membre du conseil d’agglomération, comme membre du conseil d’administration de la STM, et ce, à compter d’aujourd’hui.

Rappelons que la nomination de M. Caldwell a été confirmée par le conseil d’agglomération de Montréal le 20 mai dernier.

Starting on May 25, preparatory work on the Blue line extension will be undertaken in the Lacordaire/Jean-Talon area. The work, which will be done during the day, will involve relocating urban public utilities, such as water pipes, sewers and conduits, and underground cabling, to free up the land for the mass excavation work needed to build the new métro station. Although the STM is concerned about limiting the impact of this work, street closures are planned, and the STM is recommending that citizens be well prepared by getting information ahead of time.

À compter du 25 mai, des travaux préparatoires au prolongement de la ligne bleue seront entrepris dans le secteur Lacordaire / Jean-Talon. Ces travaux, qui seront effectués de jour, visent à relocaliser les réseaux techniques urbains, dont l’aqueduc, les égouts et des conduits et câblages souterrains, pour libérer le terrain lorsque la phase d’excavation de masse s’amorcera, en vue de la construction de la nouvelle station de métro.

The Société de transport de Montréal (STM) is launching a new summer outreach campaign to encourage better bus-bike road sharing, in collaboration with the City of Montréal.

In an effort to promote the best possible bus-bike road sharing, the STM is sharing reminders and tips to make the road safer for cyclists, such as staying behind a bus when it is at a stop or red light. This prevents cyclists from ending up in the bus’s blind spots when it starts moving again.
