Yellow line open: The work is over

After 25 weekends of planned closures, the métro’s Yellow line is operational again, seven days a week, just in time for the Holidays!

The following are the STM’s comments about the report by coroner Paul G. Dionne who investigated the accidental death of Mrs. Raima Rharouity at Fabre station last January 30.

New clothing, new look for STM employees

Sustainable development - Two STM projects are honored

Two STM projects were recognized yesterday at the Prix Novae de l’entreprise citoyenne gala. The Stinson bus garage was awarded a prize in the Sustainable Building category while Service Point for the Homeless, a joint project between the STM and the Société de développement social de Ville-Marie (SDSVM), was recognized in the Community Relations/Living Environment category.

After picking up a Numix award in May for its mobile version, STM’s website was rewarded by the Drupal community as a Partner Site of the Year Award in the Transit category.

The mobile version of the new stm.info website has won a NUMIX award in the business communications / service app category. STM’s mobile web application uses the core elements of the stm.info website and adapts it to the needs of transit users on the move.

Renovation work at Guy-Concordia: Guy entrance temporarily closed

From May 20 to August 24, 2014, the Guy entrance to Guy-Concordia station, located at 1445 rue Guy, will be closed to customers while repairs take place. Transit users can still enter the station from the Saint-Mathieu entrance, at the corner of Saint-Mathieu and De Maisonneuve.

Starting May 12, work will begin to upgrade the passenger platforms for the eastbound 470 – Express Pierrefonds bus line at Terminus Fairview in Pointe Claire. Indeed, because articulated buses will now be used, the platforms must be refurbished to accommodate these vehicles, as they are longer than standard-size buses. The work is expected to take five to eight weeks and will require the temporary relocation of a number of bus stops.

La fin de semaine du 26 et 27 avril - La ligne jaune du métro exceptionnellement ouverte (French only)

La Société de transport de Montréal désire informer sa clientèle que la ligne jaune du métro sera exceptionnellement ouverte le samedi 26 avril et le dimanche 27 avril en raison d’un événement majeur qui se déroule au parc Jean-Drapeau. C’est donc dire que le service de navettes, mis en place pour pallier les fermetures de la lige jaune durant les travaux à la voûte du tunnel, ne sera pas en opération lors de cette fin de semaine.

New Bus Preferential Measure STM buses to travel on designated sections of shoulder on Highway 40

Starting April 22, Société de transport de Montréal (STM) buses will make use of a new preferential measure established by Transport Québec (MTQ) on the shoulder of Highway 40.

Renovations at McGill station: north entrance on Union closed to clients until September

From March 31 to September 2, 2014, the north entrance on Union to the McGill métro station will be closed to clients in order to proceed with various work projects.

Bus line 470: the STM reviews the location of bus stops at Terminus Fairview

The public address system will soon sound much better inside all métro stations

Several years ago, the STM undertook to improve the quality of its public address system inside métro stations so that more messages could be broadcast and information could be more clearly understood by passengers.
