Current situation
Today, the service is running as usual.
A maintenance workers’ strike is scheduled to begin on Monday, June 9, and will end on Tuesday, June 17, at 11:59 p.m. It will run nine days total.
We recommend planning ahead and allowing extra time for your travel during this period.
Impact on bus and métro services
At this time, there is no impact on bus, metro or paratransit services.
We make every effort to minimise the impact of pressure tactics on your movements in order to ensure a certain level of essential services.
During the strike, bus and métro services will continue, but only during peak hours and evenings. Please refer to the table below to better understand how this may affect your public transit use.
Paratransit service will be maintained at all times.
Scheduled service on school bus lines maintained.
For the Canadian Grand Prix weekend (June 13, 14 and 15), the regular weekend schedule will be in effect.
If possible, we encourage you to consider active transportation options such as walking or biking, or to work from home during the strike period.
Paratransit service will be maintained at all times.

Status of negotiations
The STM is currently in the process of renewing collective agreements with four of its six unions. Active negotiations are ongoing.
A strike notice must be filed with the Tribunal administratif du travail (TAT) seven days in advance. The TAT then assesses whether essential service levels are adequate to ensure public health and safety. Once this is confirmed, the union may legally proceed with the strike.
