ARTM and STM announce extension of Sherbrooke East reserved lane

Montréal, December 4, 2023 – Following the implementation of mitigation measures related to the major repairs to the Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine tunnel, the ARTM and the STM are announcing today the opening of a new section of reserved lane on Sherbrooke Street East.

The reserved lane will be extended by 2.5 kilometres in both directions between Haig and Honoré-Beaugrand. Buses, taxis and cars with three or more occupants will be able to use the reserved lane during its hours of operation, between 6 a.m. and 8 p.m. from Monday to Friday.

In addition to the measures already in place, this initiative is intended to help residents get around more easily while the Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine tunnel is being repaired. The extension of the reserved lane will improve the many daily trips taken in this area by improving the performance and reliability of bus service.
