According to Mayor Plante, “The STM’s 2020 Budget and 2020-2029 Capital Expenditure Program are a vivid declaration of love for public transit. Our administration firmly believes in the relevance of public transit and, since our arrival at the helm of the City of Montréal, we haven’t hesitated to invest massively in the STM to ensure its growth and improve its service offering. The results are there to see, and we are confident that the deployment of the 300 new hybrid buses we ordered when we came to power will allow the STM to post record results.

Montréal, November 19, 2019 – La Société de transport de Montréal (STM) is pleased to announce the implementation of a new reservation-only shared taxibus service in the Highway 40 area of Rivière-des-Prairies to improve public transportation service in Montréal’s east end. This service will be operational from Monday to Friday during peak periods, except on legal holidays, starting November 25, 2019.
Montréal, le 19 novembre 2019 – La Société de transport de Montréal (STM) a le plaisir d’annoncer la mise en place d’un nouveau service de taxi collectif sur réservation dans le secteur de l’autoroute 40 à Rivière-des-Prairies, afin d’améliorer la desserte par transport collectif dans l’Est de l’Île de Montréal. Ce service sera en opération du lundi au vendredi, à l’exception des jours fériés, durant les périodes de pointe, et ce, à compter du 25 novembre prochain.
Over the past few months, the Société de transport de Montréal (STM) has implemented a series of concrete actions to support an organizational transformation that will eventually allow it to increase its maintenance capacity and deliver the bus service promised to its customers. A transformation of this scope cannot be achieved without some issues regarding the bus network and, in particular, customer satisfaction.
Aujourd’hui, la STM tient à apporter des éclaircissements et à rassurer sa clientèle sur les raisons entourant le manque de bus sur le réseau. Elle souhaite également réitérer que, malgré ce passage obligé, l’organisation et ses employés mettent tout en œuvre, tous les jours, pour que les 1425 bus requis aux heures de pointe soient sur la route.

The new feature enables Transport adapté customers to receive a text, telephone or email message announcing the imminent arrival of their vehicle.
