The STM’s Métro Arts

Because it is serious about making the public transit experience a pleasant one and would like to build a closer relationship with the public, the STM joined forces with the cultural community several years ago. Whether it be cultural events, artists or creative spaces, its objective remains the same: to present new artists and quality shows in its métro network and make them accessible to as many people as possible, all while encouraging the use of public transit.

Making customers’ trips more pleasant and positioning the métro as a theatre for original and unique cultural presentations was the mandate the Société gave itself when it created Métro Arts.

The Number 14
After touring Canada, Europe, Asia and the Middle East, with two runs at The New Victory Theatre on Broadway, The Number 14 and its busload of wacky characters set their GPS to Centaur Theatre!

Planning to roll on stage in high gear, the hilarious performers in this knockabout comedy will entertain and amaze with their wild shenanigans using acrobatics, song, mime and the imaginative use of masks inspired by commedia dell'arte.

First produced in 1992 by Axis Theatre and Touchstone Theatre, Vancouver, The Number 14 received four Jessie Richardson Awards, a New York Drama Desk nomination and a Dora Mavor Moore nomination.
