STM announces extension of reserved lane on Sherbrooke Street West in Côte-des-Neiges–Notre-Dame-de-Grâce borough

Nouvelle

As of December 4, between Marcil Street and Décarie Boulevard

Montréal, November 29, 2023 – The Société de transport de Montréal (STM) is announcing the commissioning of a new 400-metre extension of the eastbound reserved lane on Sherbrooke Street West, between Marcil Street and Décarie Boulevard, as of December 4.

Extending the reserved lane in the Notre-Dame-de-Grâce sector will help unblock a major traffic junction in the area. The extension will make bus travel more fluid and reduce travel times on this section of the street, improving the punctuality of the five bus lines that run through the area during rush hour, namely the line 105 Sherbrooke as well as the lines 63 Girouard, 102 Somerled et 420 Express Notre-Dame-de-Grâce.

Between Marcil Street and Old Orchard Street, and between Girouard Street and Décarie Boulevard, buses will share the reserved lane with taxis.

The extension of the Sherbrooke Street reserved lane is part of the STM’s bus priority measures, a series of initiatives, such as express lanes, priority lights and traffic light synchronization, that give priority to public transit vehicles. Bus priority measures improve the efficiency, comfort and on-time delivery of public transit services.
