Some bus routes deviated for Saint-Patrick Day parade

Montreal, 16 March 2006- The Société de transport de Montréal wishes to remind transit users that several bus routes will be deviated for short periods of time for the Saint-Patrick Day parade, which will be held in the streets of downtown Montréal next Sunday, March 19.

There will be no service on the 15 – Sainte-Catherine between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. or on the 150 – René-Lévesque between 9 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.

These bus routes will also be modified during the following periods:

  • line 57 between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. ;

  • line 66 between 10:15 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. ;

  • lines 165 and 166 between 11 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. ;

  • lines 61, 80, 107, 129 and 168 between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. ;

  • line 55 between 11 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.

Everyone attending the parade is invited to use the métro. Trains will be added on the 1 – Green and 2 – Orange lines for the occasion. Also, because ridership levels are usually heavier after an event than before, the STM recommends that parade-goers purchase their return ticket ahead of time.

When planning their transportation to this event, transit users should call
A-U-T-O-B-U-S (288-6287) for schedule information at their bus stop. For any other transit information, please call STM-INFO (786-4636). More useful information can also be found on the STM’s website at www.stm.info.
