Montréal, le 8 juin 2018 – La Société de transport de Montréal (STM) dresse un bilan positif de la première année de mise en service clientèle des trois bus 100 % électriques, qui circulent sur la ligne 36 – Monk dans le cadre du projet de démonstration technologique Cité Mobilité.

Montréal, June 8, 2018 – The Société de transport de Montréal (STM) reported positive results for its first year of putting three 100% electric buses into passenger service on the 36 Monk line, as part of the City Mobility technological demonstration project.

Montréal, June 7, 2018 – The Tribunal administratif du travail (TAT) has ratified the agreement between the Société de transport de Montréal (STM) and the maintenance union on the terms for the overtime strike to take place from June 9 to 22. The agreement is aimed at ensuring the safety of STM users and facilities and at promoting fluid movement of passengers, particularly in the context of higher ridership this weekend due to Montréal’s hosting of the Grand Prix du Canada.

Montréal, le 7 juin 2018 – Le Tribunal administratif du travail a entériné l’entente survenue entre la Société de transport de Montréal (STM) et le syndicat d’entretien sur les modalités de la grève du temps supplémentaire qui aura cours du 9 au 22 juin. L’accord vise à assurer la sécurité des clients et des installations de la STM ainsi qu’à favoriser la fluidité des déplacements, notamment dans le contexte d’achalandage accru en fin de semaine en raison du Grand Prix du Canada à Montréal. 

La revue spécialisée en développement durable Corporate Knights place la STM au sein d’un groupe sélect d’entreprises canadiennes qui se distinguent par leurs pratiques responsables exemplaires. Selon un classement rendu public aujourd’hui, la Société occupe le 9e rang canadien au classement des 50 meilleurs citoyens corporatifs du Canada. La STM est la seule entreprise de transport de passagers à faire partie de ce palmarès.

Corporate Knights, a magazine focused on sustainability, has included the STM in a select group of Canadian enterprises that stand out thanks to their exemplary responsible practices. In a list released today, the STM is ranked ninth among the Best 50 Corporate Citizens in Canada. The STM is the only passenger transportation enterprise to make the list.

Eligibility criteria

Not every day do we have the opportunity to see STM buses being transformed into authentic works of urban art thanks to the work of muralists and graffiti artists, all performing legally! Yet another good reason to visit the site of the MURAL Festival, with STM as a proud partner, taking place June 7-17, 2018 along boulevard Saint-Laurent.

Ce n’est pas tous les jours qu’il est possible de voir en direct des bus de la STM être transformés en véritables œuvres d’art urbain grâce au travail d’artistes graffiteurs et muralistes et ce, en toute légalité! C’est donc une raison supplémentaire de visiter le festival Mural, dont la STM est un fier partenaire et qui aura lieu du 7 au 17 juin 2018 sur le boulevard Saint-Laurent.

The awarding of this contract is in keeping with the municipal administration’s goal of acquiring 300 additional buses for the STM by 2020 to improve customer experience by making the bus service more reliable, while also moving closer to achieving the STM’s Organizational Strategic Plan 2025. This contract will also enable the STM to replace certain buses at the end of their service life.

The STM is scheduled to receive 375 buses in 2020, 105 in 2021, 112 in 2022, 100 in 2023 and 138 in 2024.
