Group travel

Group travel in the STM transit system

Group fares

A group fare entitles one adult to make one trip with a maximum of 10 children aged 6 to 13.  The group must stay together at all times.

N.B.: The group fare can be combined with the free travel for children.

Travelling with a group of youngsters

A little preparation helps ensure a safe and pleasant journey. See the Group travel guide for useful tips and rules to follow during group outings.

Group size

If you travel by bus, your group should not include more than 25 people. Larger groups must be divided into smaller ones.

Group shuttle services

Transportation service for day camps and school shuttles is offered in addition to regular service as far as resources are available. Thus, we must limit the time slots and sometimes the number of vehicles for this program.

Ville de Montréal's Policy on children

The Societé de transport de Montréal, in conjunction with the Autorité régionale de transport métropolitain, is proud to support Ville de Montréal’s Policy on children with a transit fare donation agreement.

Free transit fares will be distributed at schools, day camps and organizations that work with underprivileged youth aged 6 to 17 to facilitate access to extracurricular, sports and cultural activities.

This initiative is being carried out in partnership with Sport et loisir de l’île de Montréal, which will distribute the fares to organizations that meet the policy’s requirements.

View the requirements on the Sport et loisir de l’île de Montréal website (in French only) or contact the organization directly at transport@sportloisirmontreal.ca.
