Worksite summary

As part of the Blue line project, this worksite involves building a new operational infrastructure required to operate the métro.

This worksite is located north of Autoroute Metropolitaine (40) on Pauline-Vanier street.

Start of work: We plan to begin preparatory work during the summer of 2025.

Start of work on Pauline-Vanier auxiliary building 

Construction of the Pauline-Vanier auxiliary building will begin this fall. 

Preparatory work will start as soon as the contractor opens the site in the week of September 8 and will last for approximately one week. The work will consist of excavating the street to connect to the water and sewer systems. 

Preparatory phase: September 8 to 12, 2025 

Good to know: 

  • On Pauline-Vanier Street, only the portion near the worksite will be reduced to a single lane. Traffic will alternate and be controlled by temporary traffic lights. 
  • The sidewalk on the side of the worksite will be closed. A pedestrian crosswalk will be set up to reach the other side of the street. 
  • Parking will be prohibited on both sides of the street for the duration of the work. 
  • Flaggers will be present to ensure the safe passage of trucks and pedestrians.   

Learn more about the project

An auxiliary building is a service building, closed to the public and located between two métro stations, that houses a variety of mechanical and electrical equipment needed for métro operations. This includes ventilation equipment, power supply infrastructure and pumps to remove runoff water. There are currently hundreds of these buildings in the métro network.
