When you register your OPUS card, you are covered by a replacement guarantee should your card be lost or stolen. Any remaining fares on your OPUS card at the time you reported the loss or theft will be restored.
*This garantee does not apply to any OPUS card that expired more than six months ago.
Regular fare
To register your card, fill out the
subscription form and send us your completed form
along with a PDF image of your OPUS card by email at
enregistrementSTM@stm.info.Your request will be processed in the next ten business days.
To make your request in person, go to the Service Centre or to one of the STM customer service points and hand over your duly completed
form to the attendant.
In the event of loss or theft, go to one of the STM’s
points of service and bring a photo ID card. A new OPUS card, loaded with any remaining fares, will be issued. You will only be charged the current fee to cover the cost of the new card.
Reduced fare
If you pay the reduced fare, you are automatically covered by the replacement guarantee as your photo ID OPUS card is already registered. So there is no need to register your card.
In the event of a lost or stolen card, go to the STM photo studio or one of the STM’s service points as quickly as possible to have your card replaced. Have photo ID proof of your identity with you. You will be required to pay card delivery and reduced fare fees currently in effect. Your new card will be issued loaded with any remaining fares at the time you reported your OPUS card being lost or stolen.
