Extension of service points for the homeless : business, social, medical and cultural communities join forces to fight homelessness at five metro stations

The Société de développement social de Ville-Marie (SDSVM), in partnership with the STM, the Fondation Armand J. Bombardier, the Makivik Corporation, the Ministère de l’Immigration et des Communautés culturelles and the Ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux, is proud to announce the expansion of the first service point for the homeless to five downtown metro stations for a three-year period.

Moving toward electrification! STM to test a fully electric standard bus from China

As part of a technology assessment project carried out with the Société de transport de l’Outaouais (STO), today, the Société de transport de Montréal (STM) will begin testing a fully electric bus on loan from Chinese firm BYD (Build Your Dreams). The standard-size vehicle features distinctive outside markings highlighting the "green" benefits of its technology. Road testing on the streets of Montréal is expected to last until April 2014.

The Société de transport de Montréal (STM) has opened a new reserved lane on boulevard Côte-Vertu, used by bus lines 121, 174, 177, 196, 213, 216, 225, 470 and 475, which handle nearly 30,000 passenger rides per average weekday. The lane is reserved for buses and taxis, Monday to Friday, from 6:30 to 9 a.m. and from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. in both directions.

The Société de transport de Montréal (STM) will undertake work in 2014 to repair the concrete on the vaulted ceiling of the Yellow line tunnel, requiring a full service shutdown over 25 weekends in spring and fall. Mitigating measures are being planned to make transportation as easy as possible for customers.

These free one-hour dance classes will be offered from October to April on the first Sunday of every month, starting at 2 p.m. Presented as part of the STM’s Métro Arts program, these classes are open to people of all ages, whether beginners or experts.
