Sustainable Procurement

The STM releases its sustainable procurement tools to the public domain

Through one of the priorities of the Sustainable Development Plan 2025 entitled “Strengthen our sustainable procurement approach”, the STM seeks to have 85% of its contracts include sustainable development criteria by 2025.

In 2014, the STM consolidated its sustainable procurement approach by publishing guidelines and two handbooks to facilitate their application.

In its continuous bid to contribute to the advancement of sustainable development practices and to help other organizations to set up such an approach, the STM is pleased to release its two handbooks to the public domain: the Guide des principes et mesures de l’approvisionnement responsable (sustainable procurement handbook, in French only) and the Guide des certifications (certifications handbook, in French only).

Supplier Code of Conduct

In November 2018, the STM adopted its first Supplier Code of Conduct. With this Code, the STM sets clear ethical, social and environmental rules. The company asks suppliers to comply with international standards (ILO, Human Rights, etc.) and best practices in the area of sustainable procurement.
